Cowon’s S9 is sexy. Pure and simple (figuratively and literally). The S9 is a portable multimedia player (PMP) that sports a 3.3″ active matrix OLED display with touch. The 3.3″ AMOLED display sports a 480 x 272 pixel format. Although I haven’t seen the actual display, I have seen OLED displays in the flesh and they look absolutely amazing. I’m sure the S9 won’t disappoint. Does this compare to Apple’s iPod Touch? I think it absolutely does and just from the external styling, I think it does the iPod Touch a one up. On the display technology side, there is no comparison: 3.3″ AMOLED will be far superior to a 3.5″ TFT LCD. Now, there is a tradeoff: 480 x 272 (S9) versus 480 x 320 (iPod Touch). You get a bit less pixels with the S9.
